Hello Beautiful People!
During the months of November and December, I'm just coloring and coloring and coloring. Each day I'll post at least one image/design on my social media sites: Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest and Google+. Most of the coloring will be with markers, but I will sprinkle in some other supplies as well! Ohhh, all the colors!! I hope you will be inspired to create something that makes you smile.

Can you tell I've been listening to Stevie Wonder? :)
When I cannot think of words to use to add some writing in my art, I turn to Stevie. I drew and colored her in a journal I hand 'made.'
Shout Out: I dig Aaron Reed's style! I saw his artwork in person a couple years ago and was just blown away by the colors and depth of his artwork. Her pose was inspired by one of his paintings.

Look at these lovely, rich colors!
They are the new AquaBlend Artist's Watercolour Pencils by Spectrum Noir. I was so excited to receive them this week. Whenever I get new coloring supplies, I make a color chart and a color wheel (stencilgirl stencil). :) I can see the true colors and have a reference.
I colored these adorable images from Art Impressions - one of my favorite sources for rubber! I really dig the way the pencils blend smoothly - no lines. I colored direct to Watercolour Cardstock and spread color with a damp brush. I also colored indirect - touched a damp brush to the pencils and pulled color.

The sun is shinning and I'm coloring... what more could I ask for? :) I used stencils to help add style and design to the inside cover of my Ranger Dylusions Creative Journal.
I drew in their features, hair and clothing and then colored with pencils, inks, markers and pens.

I took a variety of cardstock sheets to my local office supply store and had them put into a journal. It's easy and inexpensive! It cost $2.99 (USA) to have it done.
A few days ago I shared a post on playing with a variety of cardstock, alcohol markers and watercolor paints. Click here to see it - including the list of supplies I used. I liked the different results using the variety of cardstock. I cut several pieces of cardstock in half (A2 size sheets). For the front and back panels, I cut a piece of cardboard into two A2 size pieces. I painted the cardboard with black gesso and used a black Spectrum Noir marker to scribble wide "lines:" across both sides of each piece. I added a variety of colored designs to the front panel with paint pens and a white sharpie.
On the inside cover and first page, I adhered my little samples.

I decorated these two journals for a couple here in the USA who are adopting a baby from India. They will be traveling to India this fall to pick him up. I thought they each could take their own journal to capture their thoughts, anticipation, excitement and feelings on their journey - all the emotions that come with becoming a parent.
I laid gesso down first through the large stencils on the black background so the colors would pop. I used enough gesso so it would spread just beyond the design. Next I added color using very little paint or ink so the design would be more crisp. To add detail, I used small design stencils, drew some designs and also used stamps.
I just love making personal gifts - something unique and meaningful for the recipient!
