You've seen them....those perfect photos of someone's perfectly organized creative space. But, what does it look like when the creative juices are flowing? Probably not perfect. :) At least mine doesn't. In this photo I'm working with water color mediums for a poppy scene.

I had the best time at the Wheaton Blick Art 1st annual Art Appreciation Day! Kevin and his staff are always wonderful. It was so much fun sharing coloring techniques and learning some new techniques - not only Tombow Dual Brush Pens, but also other mediums! I had the pleasure of presenting, and I was also a participant - got a bunch of goodies and I got hang out with two lovely, talented women - my two new Girlfriends! :o)
Lynn Tsan, independent artist, was there doing a demo on Crescent products. They have some very cool surfaces. I'm going to try all my markers and all my paints on them.! The staff at Blick was telling me about a contest they had with RendR No Show Thru Paper and how durable it is. You can use both sides no matter what the medium. You can see Lynn's awesome portfolio here.
Diana Garrett, Fine Art Consumer Specialist for Prismacolor, shared examples of her artwork using various Prismacolor products. She made me want to come home and get my pencils out! Check out her Good Luck Ginko when you go to her gallery. I learned a really cool technique with hand sanitizer from her. I'll make something using it soon!

Today is my first official day on the Crafter's Companion Design Team. I'm so excited!! :o) Crafter's Companion has a wonderful variety of images - from cute and whimsical to scenic, as well as leading industry arts & crafts products. Every week they have new images and every Friday they give away a stamp set from the new release line.
I've started a new blog at Trena's Stampin' Headquarters where I'll post all my CC designs and information I'll be sharing.

I am so excited about the opportunity to be featured in the July issue of Scrap & Stamp Arts - the Creative Spaces section! During My Journey from Mounted to Un-mounted, I shared with you all that I was on a schedule. :o) I was driven to get finished to meet the deadline for the article. I want to share in my excitement by offering to send an issue to one of you. That magazine always has creative and inspirational projects, and interesting articles. My Sunday International Design Team sister Paula has a lovely card published in this month's issue (page 42)!

I attended a carve your own stamp workshop and carved my first image! It was much easier than I thought, plus we had a wonderful instructor, Jenna. I was nervous about the whole transfer process - it was so easy!! We had a fun group of crafty women in the class. We were laughing - talking about different techniques we've tried, sharing stories about different areas of the country some of the women lived in, and sharing our love of art. I took the class at Paper Source - they opened last month in Naperville. What beautiful papers they have! For any Japanese papers you purchase, 10% of the sale goes to Relief Efforts for Japan. Sharing a photo of the papers I bought - you'll see them on some cards in the near future...

Hello!! I've missed posting. Been down with a nasty cold. I'm feeling much better today. I have not stamped or colored in days! I did do a little painting to finish up a card set that I'm donating to the The National Women's History Project.
The National Women's History Project, founded in 1980, is an educational nonprofit organization. Their mission is to recognize and celebrate the diverse and historic accomplishments of women by providing information and educational materials and programs. They have a web store where people can purchase items to support their cause. I donated a set of 12 handcrafted cards. I hope someone will enjoy getting them and giving them away.

It's funny how you can find ways to finish a card when you don't have all your supplies at your finger tips. I brought many, many stamped images to color and brought some cards to put the images on, but didn't think about complete layouts....dahhhhhh. :o) I tried to put this this little scene in a living room. :o)
Two lessons learned with this card: READ the color before using the pencil, and use a ruler for those dashes and dots. :o)
