When Life Gives You Limes....

I had so much fun with technique, I had to do it again!  Click here to see directions for how I made the background with gelatos for the card above.  For the lime slices, I colored directly onto the image, stamped onto
 green cardstock and cut them out.

I made a second card using thick embossing powder on black cardstock. What fun!! So many
 possibilities. I thought the background was so pretty that I did not need a focal image. Love these glasses from Judi-kins!

Happy Go Lucky Gymnast

This was a very simple, quick card, and I really dig the way it turned out!  Having designer paper makes it very easy to put together a quick card. :o)

Now, most designers would probably tell you that they pick out their papers first and then match the markers, inks, etc... Not me (this is why I say I'm "in progress").  I usually pick out my image, pick out all the colors I like, then color, and THEN go look for paper to match. Sometimes I pick out my colors first and then my image - I'm all about colors. :o)

When I use a digital image, I insert into a power point or word.doc application and then size the image. I then print it out on my ink jet printer.  Many times I will print several images on one full sheet of paper.

1. Printed image on white card stock. Let dry.
2. Colored image with Copic Markers.
3. Cut out image and pink layer with die cuts.
4. Assembled card.
5. Stamped sentiment on front of card.
6. Colored Marvy Markers directly on circle image and stamped on inside of card.

Chocolate IS the Answer

Whatever the question, chocolate IS the answer!  This is a quick and easy card!

1. Colored directly onto sweets stamps with markers. I chose the LaPlumeII markers because the  tips are smaller and I can be more precise on the smaller stamps.
2. Cut out candy, cupcakes and pie, ran them through my sticker machine
3. Stamped the stand and sentiment on the base card.

A King is Born

This is a really straight forward card. :o) I colored the images using Copic Markers. I used micro dots to give a little dimension and bling. The crowns and presents are colored with a gold metallic pen. I colored directly on the small oval stamp with a light gray Marvy marker and stamped right over colored images. The gray is so light, I did not need to mask..

Wishing You a Cozy Christmas!

Another card with snow! I can't help it. In the Chicagoland area we have been hit with snow and more snow! AND cold! :o)  So I'm focusing on a warm and cozy Christmas even though it's cold outside.

1. Stamped the house image twice, once on the base card, and once on water color (WC) paper.  On the WC paper I sprinkled embossing powder and heat set. I stamped the tree on the base card.
2. On the WC image I colored the house with Tombow Markers and a water brush. I used metallic pens to create ornaments on the tree, and for the the bulbs along the top of the house. I knew I was going to cut out only the house and the chimney - not the smoke or the side bulbs or the mail box.
3. On the base card, I colored the mail box (Tombow Markers) and the bulbs ( metallic pens) on the side of the house. 
4. I used a white gel pen to color the snow areas.  It was not popping enough for me - that's when I decided to break out the Liquid Applique (LA).  Before adding the LA, I glued my colored house image onto the base card.
5. Now! Time for LA!
6. Finally, I stamped have a copy Christmas.... I really like the A Muse note cards with dots - snow "built in." :o)

Stampin' Rudolf

For this little scene I picked A Muse stamps and drew the house roof. 

1. I first stamped  Rudolf and the sleigh on scrap card stock and colored them in with markers. I also stamped the words and drew a squiggly bubble around them.
2. Next I masked the sleigh and stamped the presents. I cut out each image and set them aside
3. I drew the roof and colored it in with markers.
4. The sky is sponged using all three ink pads.  I was going for a bright night effect.
5. I then adhered the cut out stamped images and drew little thought bubbles from Rudolf to the words and added a little red micro dot for his nose.  For the sleigh, I stamped it directly on the roof and colored in the gold parts. When I cut out the sleigh, I only used the base part. I also drew in the reins.
6. Next, I used Kittie's technique for the  snow. I practiced on scrap card stock first. As you can see I need more practice. :o)
7. I cut the notches in the top corners and adhered the card on black layer, and then onto the base card.

Car Too Small For Presents

I have lots and lots of A Muse stamps - they are just so cute! 

1. To create this little scene, I first stamped the car two times - the second image to layer the reef.
2. I then punched out the main image and drew the road. Later I added the horizon line - I knew something was missing! :o)
3. I created a mask of the car using Eclipse Tape and stamped the presents busting out of the car.
4. Next I colored in the car and presents using Copic markers. I put the mask back on and sponged in sky, grass, and road. 
5. I colored the second image of the reef and cut it out, and attached it with a thick adhesive to it was raised, but not "popped" up.
6. I used a clear glitter pen to add sparkle to the reef, presents and headlights.

The presents are filled with faith, love, trust, respect, friendship, family, kindness, laughter, joy, giving, and patience.

Have a Cozy Christmas...

    

...in warm or cold weather!

I created the same scene in two different climates.   I started with the warm climate.  The postal carrier is delivering packages in the warmness of the sun.

1. Stamped images on Papertrey Ink CS.  I stamped the house first and then masked it and stamped the trees. I thought about where the street would be and stamped the postal truck and packages.

2. I drew in the yard, sidewalk and street, and then colored and colored and colored. I stamped the truck and packages two more times on scrap Papertrey Ink CS. I colored and then cut out the extra packages and saved the trucks for another project.  I ran the packages through my Xyron sticker maker - they were so tiny I could not get any glue on them!

3. I used the Copic colorless marker (0) to remove the blue from the sky to create clouds.

In cold weather, I stared the same way. Knowing that there would be snow on the ground, I only colored  the house, truck and presents. I used Liquid Appliqué to puff up the snow and Copic marker B00 and atyou Spica clear glitter pen to give a little color  and sparkle to the snow.  I used Mickey's ears from his face punch to make a snowman. Use what you have!! I meant to put him on before the snow, but oops! So, now the snowman has a little dimension.
