I made a decision to make healthy choices and to be more consistent in exercising. My blood pressure encouraged me. :o) She said "you need to let that pizza go girl. Let go of the peanut butter, the cookies, the cheeseburgers, french fries (insert sad, sad face), and those Portillo's beef sandwiches with hot peppers." So, I made a decision - I chose my health over french fries! That does not mean I can never have those foods again - it means the majority of the time I will make heathly choices for what I eat. There's so many things in life I want to do and I need several more years to do them all. AND, I want to spend time with my family and friends. For me it's not about a specific weight goal, it's about getting healthy.
To help me track, I started a health Journal - it tracks my doctor visits, blood pressure, weight, and my thoughts & feelings. I use the lose it app on my phone to track my food choices and exercise. There's lots tracking apps out there - this one just works for me and it's free.
I started an inexpensive journal. I like the cover, but I wanted to design my own cover.
I masked the edges and painted with gesso. Next I used stencils from this month's StencilGirl stencilclub release in my design. Love all the unique designs and community associated with the club. My coloring tool of choice - Memento LUXE ink pads. They are a cross between a dye ink, a craft ink and chalk ink. Very nice bold colors and blend together nicely.
For the focal point, I traced inside one of the flowers from the large stencil with a black india ink marker.
Now, I have a colorful journal that is special to me. It tracks all my important health information and it makes me smile when I write in it and think about the choices I'm making.
I hope you do something special for yourself today! You deserve it!
Take care and STAY POSITIVE!
