I am a workshop junkie - I love to take art classes, coloring classes, cooking classes, leadership classes, team building classes, etc..... I am a life long learner. This week I had the opportunity to attend two awesome classes with Bonnie & Kendra from Art Impressions & with Suzanne from Color Me Creative!!
On Saturday I went to Memories & Beyond in Downers Grove, IL where I hung with some fabulous women AND men! I've been following Suzanne's blog for the last couple of years and watched her videos on on Youtube when I first started coloring with Copics. I sat next to Linda and found we have a mutual friend-Nancy-AND we discovered we both attended the first Intermediate Copic Certification last fall. On the other side of me was Michelle. I had met Michelle earlier that day when she stopped by my Copic Demo at Blick Art. :o) Small world! We had so much fun learning from Suzanne. She brought many of her beautiful, beautiful cards that she has shared on her blog - they are so much more beautiful in person! The four hour class zoomed by as we colored and "flicked" our way to some extraordinary results. Suzanne has one rule in her classes - no negative talk about your coloring. If she hears you, you have to dance in front of the class. Well.... I did not hear one negative word all night. :o)
Last night, I went to Creative Cuts & Crafts in Elmhurst, IL where I hung out with a bunch more fabulous women. What a warm and inviting community - Claudia made me feel welcome. I was so excited to meet Bonnie & Kendra in person! I've been a customer of AI for years and have exchanged email with Kendra lots of times. She has such a lovely, bright spirit! I participate in the monthly card contests and blog challenges, where you can win gift certificates for their products. I watch Bonnie's videos on YouTube often. She makes me feel like I can make lovely projects like she does. I'm such an AI groupie. :o) I sat at the best table with Julie & Bev (who is one of my stampin' sisters from Stampscapes Yahoo Group) from IL, and Susan & Crystal - both from MI, who were in IL for CHA. As it turns out Crystal and I are from the same area in southern Michigan. She lived in the same town I grew up in for years and worked at the hospital I was born in. Really small world!! We talked and talked and talked and listened a little to how to make cards with front & back images . Please come back and see a card I'll make for this month's card challenge. I came home with several images, some of which are brand new, just rolled out at CHA! What an awesome week of learning and creating with some outstanding people!
Take care and STAY POSITIVE!
