I had the awesome opportunity to attend another Michael Strong class! The class was only one stop during a fabulous
outing I had with my friend Susan.
[Note: Susan wrote the base of this post and I made a few updates - Thanks Susan!]
We had planned a crafty day with stamp stores, a stamp class, dinner and a movie. First stop was Stamp Your Heart Out in Claremont, CA. Claremont is a beautiful small town at the foothills of the mountains. Great store with lots and lots of stamps and ideas. We also visited an adorable chocolate shop.
After our romp in that store, we went to another small town, Monrovia, to take Mike's class at
Scrap & Yap. An appropriate name as we sat and gabbed while we stamped. We had a great time making the cards. Mike is so creative and such a nice person. He supplied everything we needed for these adorable cards. He even had pre-punched the little snowflakes! And then, we drove all around the foothills looking for a Michael's because Susan wanted a certain snowflake punch - unlike any she already has :o) [Susan said that :o)].
After that, we drove further into the foothills looking for Joann's. No punch, but we did find the paper Mike used in class for the "elegant" snow card. Perfect! Not a total bust! Please note: We had a Garmin GPS in the trunk, but chose not to get it out - it was more fun trying to figure out where we were going from goolemaps on my phone and reading street signs. :o)
Finally, we headed back to the valley for dinner. By then it was 6:30 PM and we were hungry! Never made it to a show. Did you think we would after being on a stamping safari all day? Nah! We had a margarita instead! :o) LOL Life is all about trade-offs! :)
Susan got me home about 10:00 PM. Now that's what we call a full day of work and play!
Take care and STAY POSITIVE!
