Sunsets are so relaxing to me. This card was inspired by a card Theresa did here.
- Sponge yellow across the center of white card stock. TIP: When sponging, start off your paper. If you go directly to your paper after you have picked up ink, you risk the chance of getting blotches. That happened to me and I kept sponging until they started to look like clouds. :o) I was lucky and able to save this piece. Others I've turned into some other type kind of background. I sponged in circles, except where stated otherwise.
- Sponge pink above and below the yellow - making horizontal strokes at bottom to represent water.
- Sponge orange all around the parameter of the layer.
- Mask a circle in the yellow area. Mask a straight edge for a horizon line - where the yellow and pink meet on the lower half of the card.
- Sponge more orange in the sky moving more into the center.
- Tear the low tack stick paper on an angle. Mask off a land line.
- Sponge mahogany from the mask line all the way to the bottom, moving in a vertical stroke.
- Sponge brown close to where the mask starts. Remove all masks.
- Ink up tree images in Mahogany and stamp onto land.
- Ink up tree images again and stamp onto water color paper.
- Use water brush to spread the color into the images.
- Touch the tip of the Mahogany re-inker to a a piece of plastic. No need to squeeze, you only need a tiny bit. Pick up a little color with the water brush and fill in more color in the trees on the watercolor paper.
- Cut the trees out. Dip water brush in ink and follow along the edges of the cut out images. That way when you place the cut out images onto your sunset background, they will not have a stark white edge.
- Adhere cut out images onto of stamped images on sponged layer.
- Use a small sponge to add yellow highlights of sun glistening on water.
- Ink up sentiment image with Mahogany and stamp on sponged layer.
- Use corner punch on corners.
- Adhere layer onto base card.
- For the inside of the card ink up the tree image with Mahogany & stamp onto white card stock and punch the corners.
