Every now and then we have a need to make a sympathy card. I needed to make two this week.... I tend to make them simple and elegant. This is a flower card for my friend Rose, who lost her mother.
- Ran anti-static bag over watercolor paper. Stamped image on paper, sprinkled with embossing powder and heat set.
- Colored the image by adding small dabs of color with the markers and spreading the color with a waterbrush, I really like color contrast. For the leaves I used two greens. For the pots, I used two shades - a light and a dark brown. Play around with the colors and see what works for you. I used Tombow markers, but you can use any water based markers for this technique, such as Marvy or Stampin' Up!
- Cut image out around the border and adhered to card base that complimented the color of the pedals.
- Stamped Mother image on base card, sprinkled with detail embossing powder and heat set.
