This card is for Big Mama, the mother of a dear friend of mine. Big Mama's mother passed away earlier this week. Although I have not met Big Mama in person, I have talked with her on the phone and have just fallen in love with her. I know she loves magnolias and I wanted to make a special card for her to let her know I am thinking of her and praying for her.
- Stamp magnolia image in craft ink on water color paper, sprinkle with embossing powder and heat set.
- Color image with water color pencils I color some, spread color with water brush, and then color some more until I get the colors I want. I keep a clean paper towel close by in case I put too much color or water down - I can easily pick it up with the paper towel.
- Cut image out and set aside.
- Create an oval and scalloped layer using Nestabilities.
- Run leaf template and white base card stock through Cuttlebug (or what ever die cutting machine you have). TIP: For a dry embossed cover, place the base card in the template with the card unfolded and run through machine the long way.
- Stamp sentiment image in craft ink on white card stock, sprinkle with embossing powder and heat set.
- Use the label Nestabilities to cut out a label of the sentiment.
- Adhere pieces on base card stock.
