Here's a colorful card I did for an artist I met a couple years ago at the Blick Art Expo in Lisle, IL. Joan Lok creates beautiful illustrations using the Sumi style of painting! I really enjoyed her class, and still need to practice. :o) She is publishing her first book/art albumn. Congratulations to Joan!! I just ordered my copy!!
For those of you in the IL area, the Expo is going on again this summer. Click here to find out information about it. Maybe I'll see you there!!
- I brayered pink, blue and yellow in different directions using the brayering technique I learned in Michelle's workshop.
- I then inked up the main image with VersaFine, trying not to ink the small Chinese emblem in the corer. I followed up with a red marker on the emblem and stamped on smooth white card stock.
- I then inked up the bamboo tree background with pink and stamped on the pink base card.
- I trimmed my image and adhered it to the base card. Added some cute little black marble dots and it's ready to go in the envelop!
Stamps: Club Scrap, Stampin' Up! (retired)
Ink: Stampin' Up! tempting touquioise, yoyo yellow, pretty in pink; VersaFine onyx black
Paper: SU! whisper white, pretty in pink
Accessories: brayer, Marvy LaPlume II markers 2, bella dots marble ebony
Take care and STAY POSITIVE!
