This card is really straight forward. It has a fresh, clean look.
- I started with my focal point - the pineapple. I colored the base first blending the two yellows and then the rust. I then added the greens to the top and used the rust on a few parts. In the grocery store the top is not entirely green - there's always a little brown color. :o) I had already cut my shapes and then stamped. Sometimes I stamp first and then cut when I want to make sure my image in centered or in a particular place with in the cut.
- I colored on the basket stamp center using the same blending technique, and stamped it down the side of my base card. Recoloring after each time I stamped. I then used the green markers to blend on the leaf border stamp and stamped that right over the basket.
- For the sentiment, I also blended starting with the lightest yellow on one side, then the medium yellow and ended with the rust all the way to the other side. I went back over with the lighter markers and blended between colors - to match the direction of color on the pineapple. Dee shows some great examples of how to do this in her 25th Anniversary DVD.
- The pineapple embellishment is a button. I cut the little shank off the back with wire cutters and adhered it with Mini Glue Dots. I like the dots for small "heavy" items. I used two for extra security. I gave the pineapple a little color with the markers.
