The idea for this series of art pieces was sparked by Dina's post on masks. I thought what a cool idea! I started looking through my magazines a little differently and also googled women in fashion. I found several great images for this simple and fun technique. I glued the images onto cardstock and cut them out. I liked one image so much I made a vinyl stencil out of it. I have been saving close up images as inspiration for drawing faces. Now, I have several images for inspiration. So many, I put them into a binder.
I used both the negative and positive images in my designs. I painted and sponged ink over variety of backgrounds that were in my stash from previous coloring frenzies - techniques included gelli prints, resists, shaving cream, abstract painting, alcohol ink and a masking tape.
Try this one! You'll have fun! I have to find more images, I have so many more backgrounds to use. :)
Take care and STAY POSITIVE!
